Fort Frances Lakers

The Fort Frances Lakers have gone undefeated in five games against the Keno- ra Thistles. The team is progressing well under the watch of head coach Bernie Lynch, and are getting rested up for a battle against the Thunder Bay North Stars after the lock-down. - Megan Walchuk photo

Winter art walk

Looking for something to do during lock-down? The students and staff at Robert Moore School have created a Winter Art Walk, by amassing student artwork in the school's windows. Spectators can walk past and see a wide display of creative handiwork from young artists.

Looking out for those in need

Staff at the Fort Frances Salvation Army hold up just a few of the gifts donated to local families in the annual Adopt-A-Family program. The organization saw a surge in generosity this year, nearly doubling the number of groups adopting a family over previous years. Each hamper contained a full Christmas dinner and breakfast, along with gifts.

Final departure

The CN snow plow, which has taken up residence beside the old CN station, was removed by the Town last week. The historic car had been gifted to the former Fort Frances Model Train Club many years ago. However, the car had been deemed abandoned by the Town last year. Town staff then worked in conjunction with CN police to arrange the disassembly and removal of the plow.
